Advent of Omicron in India, Health Ministry confirmed

The Health Ministry of India confirmed the advent of the Omicron variant of the Corona Virus in India. The first two cases of the variant are found in Karnataka. According to the reports made by Health Ministry, the patients and their primary and secondary contacts are successfully traced.

The first two patients are male and are 66 and 46 years old respectively. The patients are believed to be returned from South Africa.

According to medical experts, the new variant has a five times higher transmission rate than the previous variant Delta plus. This claim by medical experts is believed to be the biggest headache for the people of the country.

The Omicron variant triggered from South Africa and has already spread to around 29 countries and India is 30th on the list. The government of India has already taken measures to restrict the Omicron variant and are already operational since the last Wednesday.

India has administered 123 crores vaccine doses and around 44 crores people are fully vaccinated.

Thus, the People of the country need to follow all the guidelines issued by the government like masking up the face, proper sanitization, and maintaining social distancing. But, India looks poised to tackle the Omicron variant of the Pandemic due to efficient vaccination.
