BJP’s roadmap towards 2024 elections and the barriers analyzed

After registering a tremendous victory in State Legislative polls 2022 held in Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Manipur and Uttarakhand, BJP leadership is eyeing towards 2024. For this purpose, the party must cross six barrier states, including Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

It is a well-known fact and a slogan that “22 me Yogi, 24 me Modi” here; the first phase of the saying has been successfully accomplished by the team BJP, but the second phase is left with lots of challenges.

The upcoming state assembly election will not be an easy task for BJP to maximize victory as the states scheduled comprise some severe and demanding challenges in front of the party in power. If to analyze Karnataka, the matter of Hijab Row will be a major challenge for the party in power. But, the polarization and appeasement on the issue might benefit the party in power due to the strength of the Majority. The wave of Harsha’s murder might slow down the pace of opposition, whose moves were targeted towards cracking the conspiracy on Hijab amid UP elections.

Himachal and Gujarat were going to be easy tasks for BJP as PM Modi’s influence in Gujarat is supreme; thus, the party might register a prodigious victory. Himachal is also going to be a safe spot for BJP as the influence of Congress is diminishing day-by-day in each state, whereas in 2019, Lok Sabha BJP witnessed whitewash on all the seats of the province.

Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh are only two states where the Congress party is in power on their own. Both the said states had inter-party conflicts and severe state issues regarding the condition of law and order and many more. In Rajasthan, the escalation in the number of rape cases is an alarming sign for the party in power, whereas Sachin Pilot is another threat to the party’s future in the state. In Chhattisgarh, the confrontation between TS Singh Deva and Bhupesh Baghel over the Chief Ministerial post agreement of 2.5 years is another stringent issue, whereas the developmental policy criteria of the state is also not satisfying. Hence, BJP has full scope to take power back in both states.

Lastly, Madhya Pradesh has a clear vision regarding BJP returning to power. Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan (Mama) and BJP leadership seem poised to back into power as the developmental work in the state looks very impressive and promising. The nourishment of Cultural Heritage in the state is the topmost priority, whereas the vaccination drive in the state under Shivraj rule has emerged as an epitomic model.

Therefore, the six small targets of BJP before making their way to the 2024 elections has a major significance. The current situation is pointing towards BJP’s wave, but it also depends on how they impress the public with their policies. The party needs to work on Employment, Inflation, betterment in people’s standards, UCC and nationwide PCB(Population Controlling Law) to maximize their chances to back in power.
