Russian court orders Google to pay $52,526

A Moscow court said Monday it had ordered Alphabet’s Google to pay $52,526 for failing to remove access to banned content in Russia, the latest in a string of fines for the US tech giant.

Russia upped the ante in its late last year Efforts to increase pressure on big tech companies and imposed massive revenue-related fines on Google and meta-platforms for their repeated failure to remove content Moscow deems illegal. Google declined to comment.

The TASS news agency reported that Google was fined for providing links to banned websites.
