Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has made a sensational claim that the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government had offered a “supari” (contract) to the police to put him in prison. Fadnavis, who was the opposition leader during the MVA regime, alleged that the government had tried to frame him in false cases to silence him.
Fadnavis was speaking at a public event in Nagpur when he made these claims. He stated that the MVA government had been trying to intimidate him and other opposition leaders through various means, including filing false cases against them.
The deputy chief minister claimed that he had been targeted by the previous government because of his vocal criticism of their policies and actions. He alleged that the government had used the police and other agencies to harass and intimidate him, but he had not been deterred.
Fadnavis’ claims have sparked a political row, with the opposition demanding an investigation into the allegations. The MVA has denied the claims, calling them baseless and an attempt to deflect attention from the current government’s failures.
The controversy has once again highlighted the bitter political rivalry between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the opposition MVA in Maharashtra. The state has seen several high-profile cases of political leaders being targeted by the government, and Fadnavis’ claims have added fuel to the fire.
