A 14-year-old minor girl has been raped in the delivery room of a state government hospital in Rajasthan’s Barmer district by accused Nasir Khan. The victim went to hospital complaining of stomachache and accused raped her at knife point and secured intimate photos and videos, police said.
Mularam Choudhary, head of the Gudamalani police station in Barmer, confirmed the incident.
The girl, a resident of Udaniyon Ki Dhani village under the Gudamalani police station, went to the hospital with her brother to complain about the abdomen. Because of a serious run to the hospital, the girl’s brother left her and went to a nearby market.
The suspect, identified as Nasir Khan, who was already acquainted with the girl, called her to the maternity ward at the hospital where he first beat her and threatened her. Later, he sexually assaulted her with a knife.
The suspect also took photographs and pornographic videos of the survivor and warned him that if he shared the incident with anyone, he would post them on social media and kill him.
According to police, the girl returned home and told her mother about the incident. Police said that although the incident took place on May 16, family members initially avoided filing a complaint with the police but on Friday approached the local police and opened a case against the accused.
On the basis of the complaint, the case has been filed under different sections of the IPC and the POCSO Act. The suspect is no more.
