MVA allies murmuring leadership change in Maharashtra, as second half begins

Maharashtra government of MVA (Maha Vikas Aghadi) murmuring leadership change in the state. The tension within the alliance escalated as second half of the term begins. The three party alliance of Sena-Congress-NCP contributes equal nearly equal number of seats and any breakup in the alliance cause BJP to return in power.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Lok Sabha Supriya Sule visited the Tuljabhavani Temple in Osmanabad on Monday to pray for good rains and to seek the blessings of the goddess to alleviate the suffering of farmers.

The priest, however, prayed for the provincial NCP chief minister after the 2024 general election.

Sule later told reporters: “I came here to express my gratitude for everything we have. I wanted a blessing from God so that the farmers could have a good rain. ”

Asked when Maharashtra would find the first female minister, the Member of Parliament said, “I have no answer; I am not an astronomer … The people of Maharashtra will decide that. ”

Responding to the allegations, Shiv Sena State Minister Abdul Sattar said Sule would have to wait more than 25 years to become the first CM woman. He also said CM’s wife Uddhav Thackeray Rashmi would be the first to achieve that.

Senator Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut on Tuesday said Thackeray would remain in office for the next 25 years.

“Arguments like this are built but one should not be ignored. The Maharashtra government is led by Uddhav Thackeray. Sharad Pawar, Supriya Sule, Sonia ji [Gandhi], and Rahul ji [Gandhi] are proud of Uddhav ji’s leadership. “No one should pay attention to anyone who raises a question [about change at CM],” Raut said.

NCP senior leader and Interior Minister Dilip Walse Patil also said there was no such proposal for a change of leadership.

“There is no discussion of any change in the prime minister within the MVA. Thackeray will continue to remain in the CM until long. We have been keeping this standing and there is no change in that even today, ”he told the media.
