Why Festivity Riots Flourished in India despite liberal and democratic freedom?

As diligent as our liberals appears on the international podium, in reality they are the hand which is believed to have grown the network of PFI(Popular Front of India) imparting Anti-National sentiments. A timeless historic capital has unleashed many intolerance cases have been heard of then and now.

NCRB, the prime a repository of information on crime and criminals so as to assist the investigators in linking crime to the perpetrators in India, has rightly warned about such planned and internationally funded organizations. It is spine-chilling to know, rather than reduction or an approach to unify the differences has become the biggest struggle for India even after attaining over 75 years of Independence.

The records:

The ground-breaking factor that helped people unite the diversity has become spurred in its very appeal. While many may agree that the organizations like CFI, PFI and Hindustan Mujahidin has inflamed religious tensions and their protectors has strongly defended them by practicing biased dealings with the prospect of religion and expression is in the public sphere in the name of secularism.

No doubt the striking figures are proof enough that some Indian sects need to gear itself up to stop exploiting the privileges given to them for their own betterment and let the space of freedom as citizens be guaranteed under Article 25 of the Indian Constitution prevail.

In India, there were 61,964 incidents of rioting in 2016, of which 869 were religious or communal, according to the data. In 2017, there were 58,880 cases of rioting overall, of which 723 were communal or religious; in 2018, 57,828 cases and 512 incidents, respectively; in 2019, 45,985 cases and 438 cases; and in 2020, 51,606 cases of rioting overall, of which 857 were communal or religious.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) earlier this year in March mentioned during the Lok Sabha session, that there were as many as 3,399 cases of communal or religious rioting in the country in the five-year period from 2016 to 2020. With an overall of over 2.76 lakh cases of rioting during this period, the reports made under the Indian Penal Code, as well as Special and Local Laws, establish a variety of crime heads under which the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) releases crime statistics from all the States and Union Territories however was learnt that it does not retain separate data regarding mob lynching’s, which are grievous degrees of harm performed in the name of religious sentiments like chanting the slogans Gustakh-e-nabi ki ek hi saja, Sar tan Se Juda

The Events:

In India, communal and festive riots are not new at all, they have been there since independence like 1969 Gujarat Riots (512 deaths), 1980 Moradabad Riots (400 deaths) and Nellie Massacre that caused 2191 official deaths whereas unofficial data suggests 10,000 Causalities.

India is the world’s largest democratic country also is home to a wide array of religious communities it is also not in any hidden spectrum that the some political parties are trying to politicize vote banks by igniting tensions within religious groups through their Polarization and Appeasement politics.

To the disgrace of Gandhi’s legacy, the growth of riot and religious intolerance has doubled. Religious organizations frequently mobilize voters to support a certain party in Indian politics.

The most defiling incident occurred in April 2022 when a large religious group stone pelted on peaceful Hindu procession who were celebrating Hanuman Jayanti and the holy occasion of Ram Navami faced the same situation. These protests and riots happened all many India states such as Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, and several other states.

A group of people and religious leaders were able to amass a great deal of power and influence in their communities.

Several news reports suggested that the radicalization of Muslim community was not voluntary but a planned execution by terror linked organization PFI, which later this year got banned in India.

Then in the same month too, the Maharashtra leaders demanded a ban on the usage of Mosque loudspeakers to prevent the nascence public goes through, but no such ban has been implemented till now.

We all remember about Hijab Protest in Karnataka, in which many got severely injured and several Bajrang Dal activists were brutally killed. Few of these forgotten names were Harsha in Shivamogga Karnataka, the intelligence agency reported that the CFI and PFI backed violent groups organized the protest to spread communal hatred.

During CAA riots in Delhi, around 53 fatalities were recorded in mass protest, stone pelting terrorized the National Capital Region, the intelligence agency further quoted that the PFI and other organization were indulged in the protest were creating tension to defame India during the visit of Former USA President Donald Trump to India.

In another unfortunate incident on October 10, 2008, communal riots and subsequent police shootings in Bhainsa town, once a part of the united Adilabad district, resulted in three fatalities and 15 injuries. The festivity which was otherwise to be celebrated with pomp ended in a Violent eruption as Durga idols were being brought out during Friday Muslim prayers for their immersion ceremony.

This year Jodhpur province of Rajasthan also faced “Sar Tan Se Juda” threats in which a tailor in Udaipur namely Kanhaiya Lal was brutally murdered for practicing freedom of expression.

Conclusion:

The diversified Indian cavitation had never seen these Religious and festive riots until a few so called NGOs and Internationally funded organizations entered in India. From a psychological perspective, the ill impacts of long-term exposure to violence can be reflected as fear factors which are often snubbed for being too dramatic yet the gruesome reality may dawn upon the very reason why one has to live privileged but dissatisfied sects. More importantly, the influx of state religion, considerably in its baby state development may as well overtake the peace which was tolerated and celebrated some years ago.
