Japan’s PM Kishida used business jet for a Surprise visit to Ukraine amid XI-Putin meet

Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio used a private business jet instead of a government plane to fly to Poland during his trip to Ukraine.

Government officials chartered the plane behind the scenes. The plane took off from Tokyo’s Haneda Airport to India on Sunday evening. It was more than three hours before the government plane carrying Kishida left for the same destination.

After completing his itinerary in India, Kishida secretly boarded a commercial plane. He arrived in Rzeszów in south-eastern Poland around midnight on Monday. The city is located near the border with Ukraine.

The business jet is supposed to have a capacity of about 10 passengers. Government officials are believed to have used the chartered plane to minimize the prime minister’s entourage and tightly control the flow of information.
