Infosys’ ‘Power’ programme offers up to 9 lakh salary for freshers: check details

Infosys has launched a ‘power programme’ for freshers, offering salaries of up to ₹9 lakh per annum. The programme is designed to attract top talent and provide them with a platform to grow and develop their skills.

The company’s entry-level fresher pay packages typically range between ₹3-3.5 lakh, but this new programme offers higher salaries to exceptional candidates. The focus is on coding and software challenges, programming skill testing, and specialized skill tests for both tests and interviews.

Infosys plans to hire 15,000-20,000 graduates in FY25 and has moved to agile hiring, which means hiring freshers both from campus and off-campus. The company’s chief financial officer, Jayesh Sanghrajka, stated that they have seen a significant increase in hiring and are focused on bringing in the best talent.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) also has a similar initiative called ‘Prime’, which offers salaries of up to ₹11 lakh per annum to freshers. TCS hires freshers under three categories: ‘Ninja’ with packages around ₹3.6 lakh, ‘Digital’ at ₹7.5 lakh, and ‘Prime’.

The top five IT companies in India have reduced their employee count by over 70,000 in 2024. While TCS witnessed an improvement in the June quarter with 5,452 additions, Infosys’ headcount dropped by nearly 2,000 during April to June. HCLTech added 1,078 freshers in the first quarter of FY25 compared to 3,096 in the previous quarter.
