IIM Bodh Gaya Students and Faculty Join Hands for Cleanliness Campaign

Students and faculty members of the Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya (IIM BG) participated in a cleanliness event named ‘Ek Ghanta Ek Tareekh’ on October 1, 2023, at the nearby village Bapunagar. The event was organized by Pragati CSR Committee, a student-led initiative that aims to contribute to the social welfare of the community.

The event was inspired by the national cleanliness campaign initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014, which seeks to achieve a clean and healthy India by 2024. The event was attended by Dr. Muhammed Ashiq V and Dr. Nanda Choudary, faculty members of IIM BG, and Mr. Rajeev Ranjan, the head of the village.

The event commenced with the cleanliness pledge, in which the participants vowed to follow the pious path of cleanliness and hygiene. The pledge was followed by practical demonstrations to showcase the correct methods of hand washing, waste segregation and maintaining personal hygiene. The participants also interacted with the villagers and educated them about the importance and benefits of cleanliness.

The event was a success, as it not only helped in cleaning the village, but also in spreading awareness and creating a positive impact on the villagers. The participants expressed their satisfaction and gratitude for being part of such a noble cause. They also thanked Pragati CSR Committee for organizing the event and providing them with an opportunity to serve the society.

The event was a part of IIM BG’s vision to foster collective development and social responsibility among its students and faculty. The institute believes that such events can help in building a strong bond between the institute and the community, as well as in enhancing the skills and values of its members. IIM BG plans to conduct more such events in the future, to further its mission of creating leaders who can make a difference in the world.
