The Press United is proud to announce the 1st edition of its Article Writing Competition called the “Writing Stars”. As the name suggests this competition focuses to provide a platform and recognition to the budding writers.
Eligibility
Anyone well acquainted with English writing may participate.
Theme
The competition is especially themed for “current affairs” from India or from across the world with an aim of giving participants a chance to demonstrate their research abilities, critical & creative thinking, and analyzing abilities in a concise and well-connected manner.
Topic Example – Udaipur Incident: Does India Need Blasphemy laws now?
The Articles may be related to Politics, Economy, Technology, Medical, Law, International Relations, Diplomacy, Heritage, History etc.
Guidelines for Article
- Article may be around 1200-2000 words.
- Multiple entries by the same author are not allowed.
- All submissions must be original and unpublished. Plagiarism shall be scrutinized strictly.
- Article must be given a suitable title.
- The submission must be made in doc or docx format only.
- Article must be grammatically correct.
- Language must be English.
- Referencing to online source should be made in the form of back links.
- Referencing Example: Soon thereafter, the Quad ran into further trouble with their choice of vaccines. Important to note
- We reserves all rights to modify, postpone or defer the article writing Competition and its adjudication indefinitely as and when exigencies of an unforeseen nature may arise.
- The entries will then be reviewed by a select committee consisting of 6 members.(Winners & Top 20 authors shall receive certificate of publication via email)
- After receiving the article The Press United holds the rights to alter/modify the article for publication purpose. No alteration shall be made before declaration of result.
- The results shall be final and unappealable.
Awards
- 1st prize: INR 1000 + Certificate + Certificate of Publication
- 2nd prize: INR 600 + Certificate + Certificate of Publication
- 3rd prize: INR 300 + Certificate + Certificate of Publication
Note : Top 20 articles shall be published on the website(thepressunited.com). And the author of the published article shall be provided with a Certificate of Publication.
