50 More Flights Receive Hoax Bomb Threats Amid Ongoing Aviation Disruption

The Indian aviation sector continues to face disruption due to an alarming surge in hoax bomb threats. Today, around 50 flights were targeted, adding to the nearly 250 flights that have received such threats over the past 10 days.

Major airlines, including Air India, Vistara, Akasa Air, and IndiGo, have been affected by these threats, primarily made through social media platforms. The government has taken swift action, holding a virtual meeting with airline officials and social media platforms to address the issue.

During the meeting, the Centre urged social media platforms to utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based solutions to block accounts sending threat messages. Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu announced plans to introduce legislative actions to tackle the issue, including placing perpetrators on the no-fly list.

The threats have caused significant disruptions, forcing flight diversions and impacting airline operations. The government’s prompt response is crucial in preventing further disruptions and ensuring passenger safety.

The hoax bomb threats have been relentless, with multiple flights receiving threats daily. The aviation sector remains on high alert, working closely with authorities to ensure passenger safety and prevent future threats.
