After 14 years barefoot, devoted admirer finally meets PM Modi

A man who walked barefoot for 14 years after vowing not to wear shoes until he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi finally saw his long-held wish fulfilled on Monday.

At a rally in Haryana’s Yamunanagar district, Rampal Kashyap, a resident of Kaithal, met the Prime Minister in person. PM Modi gifted Kashyap a pair of shoes and urged him not to take such extreme vows in the future.

A video shared by the Prime Minister on X shows Kashyap visibly emotional as PM Modi personally helps him put on the shoes.

“I am humbled by people like Rampal Ji and deeply touched by their affection,” PM Modi wrote on X. “But I want to request everyone who takes up such vows—I cherish your love, but please focus your dedication on social work and nation-building instead.”

Development projects unveiled in Haryana

During his visit to Yamunanagar, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several key development projects in the region. These include: the foundation stone of an 800 MW modern thermal power unit at the Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant and Compressed Biogas Plant in Yamunanagar.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of the new terminal building at Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar, a project worth over Rs. 410 crore. The modern terminal will include a passenger building, a cargo facility, and a state-of-the-art Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower. On the same day, flight services from Hisar to Ayodhya commenced.
