New Delhi: The recent incidents of communal clashes in Haryana have disturbed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who urged the people of the neighbouring state to stay calm and united at this crucial time.
He said people should resist the forces that promote violence and disturb peace.
The clashes have claimed five lives so far. In Nuh, four people, including two home guards, lost their lives and many others were injured when a mob attacked a Vishva Hindu Parishad rally. In Gurugram, a deputy imam was killed at a mosque.
Authorities on Tuesday Enforced a curfew in Nuh.
Arvind Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi, “I am deeply saddened by the communal violence in Haryana’s Nuh (Mewat). This is not a good sign after what happened in Manipur in the Northeast.
I request the people of Haryana to keep peace and harmony at this critical time. We have to defeat the forces that are against peace and spread violence.
