Elegante 6.0, The annual fest of IIM Bodh Gaya, officially kicked off on 20th January.
Elegante 6.0, the sixth annual fest of IIM Bodhgaya, with the State Bank Of India as the title sponsor, has kicked off on 20th January and is planned to continue till 22nd January 2023. The grand fest is set to host a magnitude of 25 events in various fields of Sports, Management, and cultural events with enthusiastic students participation from various prestigious institutes across the country, including the National Institute of Technology Patna, National Law University Odisha, Birla Institute of Technology Mesra, Army Institute of Management Kolkata, Institute of Hotel Management Bodhgaya to name a few.
Dr. Vinita S. Sahay, Director, IIM Bodh Gaya, inaugurated the fest by thanking all the students, participants, faculty, and chief guest Shri. Ajai Kumar Pandey. She addressed the audience on how individualism carries significant importance in promoting collectivism through sports and the innumerable lessons we get from sporting activities. Her speech was followed by Shri. Ajai Kumar Pandey took the stage to address the participants on the importance of management knowledge in our everyday life and emphasized focusing on our collective social responsibility and behaviour.
The event began with a welcome speech by Prof. Sreelekha Mishra, Chairperson of Student Affairs. She welcomed Dr. Vinita S. Sahay, Director, IIM Bodh Gaya, Mr. Ajay Kumar Pandey, Assistant director of Bihar Police Academy, along with Shri. Pranav Kapoor, Regional Manager of Central Bank of India, Gaya; Shri. Raubins Kumar, International medalist in Karate; Shri. Ajit Kumar, a National player in the game of football, and Shri. Anjani Kumar, Bihar State Gold Medalist in Volleyball, Track & Field Coach; for gracing this grand celebration of collectivism with their presence.
She thanked the institute’s students, the committees, and the clubs for their continuous efforts and collective dedication to organizing this fest. This was followed by the introduction to sports activities by Prof. Soumya Prakash Patra, Chairperson of Sports.
The spectacle finally began with a cricket match between IIM Bodh Gaya and NIT Patna, followed by a football rivalry between NLU Odisha and NIT Patna, along with roaring cheers from the students in the gallery, wavering support to their fellow mates.
The institute will host Bollywood singer Ami Mishra, on the stage of Elegante on 22nd January, and one of the finest DJs in the country, DJ Ravish, also takes part in the fest.
The event includes various case study competitions across domains such as Marketing, HR, Finance, Operations, Strategy, and Data Analytics. “Manthan – Discussion that Ignites,” a discussion centered around the challenges faced by entrepreneurs and start-ups, and a series of guest lectures and CEO Meet are also being organized.
Elegante 6.0 also focuses on the vertical of sports to unleash the sportsman in the participants with numerous sports events in these three days, such as badminton, football, volleyball, and cricket. Sports is the major event under the banner of Elegante 6.0.
To showcase and make people aware of the season’s new styles, the institute is also organizing “Navyata”- The Fashion Show Competition as a part of Elegante 6.0.
