IIM Bodh Gaya recently hosted its 5th annual Youth Entrepreneurship Summit (YES), a vibrant platform fostering entrepreneurial spirit among students.
Orchestrated by the institute’s Envision Cell, the event attracted over 400 attendees and offered a dynamic mix of insightful discussions, interactive activities, and a spirited competition.
Dr. Vinita Sahay, the Director of IIM Bodh Gaya, opened the event by reflecting on the institute’s significant growth and the strategic initiatives undertaken to nurture an entrepreneurial ecosystem. The summit was graced by a series of distinguished speakers, including Mr. Sachin Gupte, a renowned leader in public health and nutrition, Mr. Mario Dominic, the co-founder, MD, and CEO at Beez Innovation Labs, and Mr. Amit Batra, a seasoned professional at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
Each speaker brought unique insights to the table, from Mr. Gupte’s exploration of the health sector’s six fundamental blocks to Mr. Dominic’s intriguing analogy of entrepreneurship and sports. Mr. Batra underscored the importance of implementing innovative ideas and staying abreast of current trends.
The summit’s Fun Fiesta saw students and sponsors set up stalls featuring a variety of entertaining activities, from foosball and acrylic tattoos to handmade bookmarks and live caricatures.
The entrepreneurial pitching competition, Pitch Perfect, witnessed participants from various institutes, including the University of Mumbai, IIT BHU, and IIT Hyderabad, presenting their innovative ideas. Esteemed panelists, including Prof Srividya Raghavan, Prof Sreelekha Mishra, Prof Swapnarag Swain, Prof Abu Khalek, and chief guest Mr. Mario Dominic, provided valuable feedback, underscoring the high caliber of talent on display.
The Techknights team from Buddha Institute of Technology emerged as the champions. An intra-quiz competition added an intellectual dimension to the event, with Team Gnocci from the MBA cohort claiming victory. The event was sponsored by Nabard, Startup Bihar, Universal Sampo General Insurance, Choice International, and Flyup(RDB India).
The primary objective of the Youth Entrepreneurship Summit is to cultivate entrepreneurial leadership among students, a mission that IIM Bodh Gaya has been passionately pursuing for the past five years.
