Gujarat government formed four member committee to find conclusion on the implementation of Uniform Civil Code in the poll bound state.
Gujarat CM Bhupendrabhai Patel led the cabinet meet which also believed to be last state cabinet meeting as the schedule for state legislative assembly polls are poised to announce next week.
The concerned committee will be headed by retired High Court Judge and will consist four members as said by Union Minister Purushottam Rupala.
The decision to implement Uniform Civil Code in Gujarat has come just ahead of the state legislative assembly polls which are poised to held in December last.
The opposition leaders also targeted the ruling BJP government which includes names like Assaduddin Owaisi, and some Congress leaders are also in the queue.
The BJP government has already implemented UCC in the state of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, here Gujarat is third in the list. Apart from state wise implementation of the law, the center must opt to implement this law nationwide to advance the reach of the law.
