The Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled that the Varanasi court order would be limited to the protection of the ‘Shivling’ reportedly found but there would be no restrictions on Muslim entry and offering Namaz in the Gyanvapi Muslim area. The high court adjourned the case to Thursday that is May 19th.
A high court bench comprising Judge DY Chandrachud and PS Narasimha issued notices to Hindu petitioners and the Uttar Pradesh government at the request of the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee challenging the Varanasi regional court order directing a video study of the Gyanvapi Mosque building, near the temple of Kashi Vishwanath.
The local court yesterday ordered that part of the Gyanvapi Masjid building be sealed after lawyers representing Hindu applicants said “Shivling” was detected during the investigation.
The concerned Shivling is situated just in front of Nandi in Kashi Vishwanath but, the problem is that Nandi is in Temple whereas Shivling is in Mosque. The whole controversy triggers at the same point.
