India to announce ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad on Saturday

The Indian cricket squad for the ODI series against England and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be announced on Saturday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed in a media advisory issued on Friday.

The announcement will take place at a press conference in Mumbai at 12:30 PM IST, attended by team captain Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar, chairman of the men’s selection committee.

According to BCCI, the Men’s Selection Committee will finalize India’s squad for both the IDFC First Bank ODI series against England and the ICC Champions Trophy.

India’s Upcoming Fixtures

Before the ODI series, India will play a five-match T20I series against England starting January 22. The first match will be held in Kolkata, with subsequent matches scheduled for January 25 in Chennai, January 28 in Rajkot, January 31 in Pune, and February 2 in Mumbai.

The three-match ODI series will follow, commencing on February 6.

The ICC Champions Trophy will take place from February 19 to March 9, under a hybrid model in Pakistan and the UAE. India will play all its matches in the UAE. The tournament comprises eight teams and includes 15 matches in a 50-over format.

India begins its campaign against Bangladesh on February 20, followed by the highly-anticipated match against Pakistan on February 23 in Dubai. India’s final league match will be against New Zealand on March 2.

Tournament Structure

Group A consists of hosts Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh. Group B includes Cricket World Cup 2023 winners Australia, along with Afghanistan, England, and South Africa.

The ICC Champions Trophy marks India’s next major international assignment following its domestic series against England.
