New Delhi: After almost two years of the pandemic, India is to resume regular international flights from Sunday, according to an order from the Directorate-General for Civil Aviation.
The order states that proposed foreign airlines have applied for approval of their international schedule. Summertime 2022 applies from March 27, 2022, to October 29 this year.
A total of 60 foreign airlines from 40 countries including Mauritius, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey, United States of America, Iraq, and others have been approved to operate 1783 frequencies to/from India in summer 2022.
However, there are some new airlines including India Salam Air, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, Qantas, and American Airlines starting operations with India. Notably, India had suspended international flights since March 2020 due to the COVID pandemic.
