Draupadi Murmu won Presidential Election by defeating Opposition Candidate Yashwant Sinha with a huge margin securing 540 votes and value as 3,78,000. On the other hand, Sinha only able to secure 208 votes and value as 1,45,600 even after getting support from Opposition giants like Congress, SP, TMC, NCP, RJD and several others.
Draupadi Murmu comes from tribal community of Jharkhand and has also served as Governor for the State of Jharkhand.
This opponent Yashwant Sinha has served as Minister in Finance in BJP’s Atal Bihari Vajpayee government. Sinha left BJP and joined TMC in 2018, his son is already in the same party and is serving as Minister of State in Modi Cabinet.
This grand victory for Murmu signifies many things including the strength of BJP in the Parliament which secured votes more than that of seats possibly due to cross voting.
In the Presidential election, BJP was accompanied by several parties including JDU, Shiv Sena (Udhav), TDP, YSR Congress, Akali Dal, JMM, AIADMK and several other small parties.
The upcoming Vice Presidential polls are also roaring as Jagdeep Dhanker of also getting sufficient support from the parties as compared to Margaret Alva who is opposition candidate.
Therefore, this grand victory achieved by Draupadi Murmu also proves BJP’s influence and spread radiance to the dreams of the BJP or NDA alliance for road to 2024.
