Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said India’s response to Pakistani aggression following Operation Sindoor was so strong that Pakistan’s airbases are “still in ICU,” and Islamabad was forced to wave the white flag due to the valour of the Indian Armed Forces.
Addressing a gathering after launching development projects in Bhuj, PM Modi said that India had made its intent clear to strongly punish the perpetrators of the Pahalgam terror attack and that Pakistan should have remained silent. He added that, having chosen aggression, Pakistan must now face the consequences.
“People have seen the 1971 war, but this time Pakistan was shaking. Our retaliation was so strong that their airbases are still in ICU. Pakistan was forced to take shelter; they realised they couldn’t escape as India responded with force. It was the valour and bravery of our forces that made Pakistan wave the white flag. We had already told them—our target was your terror infrastructure; all you had to do was stay quiet. Now that you made a mistake, you must deal with the consequences,” he said.
Delivering a strong message to Pakistan over its continued support for cross-border terrorism, PM Modi said the people of Pakistan must realize that this approach is destroying their children’s future. He warned that if Pakistan does not choose the path of peace, India knows how to respond.
The Prime Minister also said that the Pakistani government and military have turned terrorism into a business model—a source of income at the cost of the lives and future of their citizens.
“It is up to the people of Pakistan to decide: is this the future you want?” he asked. “Live a life of peace and contentment, have your meals… otherwise, my bullet is ready,” he said.
PM Modi urged the people of Pakistan to recognize the harsh reality of their situation. He said power-driven agendas were endangering lives and dragging the country’s youth into darkness. He emphasized that if Pakistan wants to rid itself of terrorism, its citizens must rise and act against it.
Drawing a contrast between India and Pakistan, the Prime Minister pointed out that while Pakistan repeatedly seeks IMF bailouts, India is on track to becoming the third-largest economy in the world.
“From the sacred land of Kutch, I want to ask the citizens of Pakistan—what have you really gained? Look at your living conditions. Ask yourselves—who destroyed your children’s future? The answer is terrorism,” he said.
The prime minister said that the Pakistan Army runs its own agenda. “Your army and government have turned terrorism into a business at the expense of your lives and your future. The children of Pakistan must know the truth—their suffering stems from a system that fuels terror instead of building a nation.”
PM Modi also referred to a recent drone attack launched by Pakistan on Kutch, suggesting it was a personal attack since he hails from Gujarat. “But they forgot—this is the land where, in 1971, our brave Nari Shakti (women) built an airstrip in just 72 hours,” he said.
He reiterated that India had targeted only terrorist camps with precision during Operation Sindoor, while Pakistan chose to escalate with open aggression.
Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone, inaugurated, and dedicated development projects worth over ₹53,400 crore in Bhuj, Gujarat.
