PM Narendra Modi attended Bharat Drone Mahotsav fest in Delhi’s Pragati Maidan along with Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiaraditya Scindia. The opening ceremony of the Bharat Drone Mahotsav fest in Pragati Maidan witnessed where PM of India also flown the drone. “Tech has played a key role in increasing access to services and programs, and drones have quickly become an integral part of this transformation”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday, reiterating his government’s bet on new technologies that he said would lead to “antyodaya” (well-being for all).
Modi was speaking at the opening program of the Bharat Drone Mahotsav exhibition, 2022 at the Pragati Maidan in Delhi, where he said that many sectors from agriculture, health care, defense, disaster management, to entertainment would benefit from these tools.
“It is my dream to see all the farms armed with drones,” he said, charging them as one of the government’s focus areas on the use of social technology.
“In the past, inventions have been regarded as the preserve of the highest order. Today, we make the technology available to more people, “he added during an event where he also met with” Kisan drone “pilots – farmers who received their certificates after training on how to use these devices.
“Drone is the idea whose time has come in India,” said Union civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. “Though drones fly up in the sky, they reach every interior village of the country,” he added.
Scindia added that the sector was set for a boom in India. “It is estimated that the drone industry will reach ₹15,000 crore turnover by the year 2026. Today, there are 270 drone start-ups in India,” he said.
