Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Estonian President Alar Karis on Tuesday during the AI Action Summit in Paris, where they discussed ongoing bilateral cooperation in the field of cybersecurity.

In their first meeting, both leaders highlighted the warm and friendly relations between India and Estonia, rooted in a shared commitment to democracy, the rule of law, and the values of freedom and pluralism.

According to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the two leaders expressed satisfaction with the growing bilateral cooperation across various fields, including trade and investment, IT and digital initiatives, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

Prime Minister Modi invited the Estonian government and companies to explore the vast opportunities offered by India’s growth story and leverage initiatives such as Digital India.

“The two leaders noted the importance of the India-Estonia partnership in the context of the India-EU strategic partnership. They welcomed the initiation of ministerial exchanges in the India-Nordic-Baltic format and exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest, as well as cooperation at the United Nations,” the statement read.

Both leaders also acknowledged the deepening cultural ties between India and Estonia. Prime Minister Modi appreciated the popularity of Yoga in Estonia as a testament to the strengthening people-to-people connections.

Earlier, while chairing the AI Action Summit alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, PM Modi emphasized that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is now “writing the codes of humanity” and has immense potential to transform millions of lives.

“AI is already reshaping our polity, economy, security, and even society. AI is writing the code for humanity in this century,” the Prime Minister said while addressing a gathering of global leaders and top tech CEOs.
