Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address several rallies in Maharashtra today ahead of the upcoming legislative assembly elections. The rallies are scheduled to take place at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Raigad, and Mumbai.
Voting for the 288-seat assembly will take place on November 20, with vote counting scheduled three days later.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is contesting the assembly election as part of the Mahayuti alliance, which includes Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena faction and Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
Facing off against the Mahayuti is the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), a prominent coalition formed by Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT), Sharad Pawar’s NCP (SP), and the Congress party. This alliance previously held power in Maharashtra and is now contesting to regain control of the state legislature.
