Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to participate in the YUGM Conclave on April 29 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The event, scheduled to begin at 11 AM, will see the Prime Minister address a gathering of stakeholders from government, academia, industry, and the innovation sector.
The YUGM Conclave—short for “confluence” in Sanskrit—is a landmark initiative designed to propel India’s innovation ecosystem forward. It marks a strategic collaboration involving a joint investment of approximately ₹1,400 crore from the Wadhwani Foundation and key government institutions. The conclave aims to be a pivotal moment in realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of a self-reliant, innovation-driven India.
Several high-impact projects will be launched during the event. These include the establishment of “Superhubs” at IIT Kanpur and IIT Bombay, focusing on artificial intelligence and biosciences respectively. In addition, Wadhwani Innovation Network (WIN) Centers will be set up at premier research institutions to bridge the gap between academic research and commercial application. A significant collaboration with the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) will also be announced to fund late-stage innovation and research translation.
The conclave will feature a series of high-level roundtables and panel discussions bringing together top government officials, industry leaders, and academic experts. The agenda will focus on enabling rapid commercialization of research, fostering academia-industry-government partnerships, and scaling up private investment in innovation.
One of the highlights of the event will be a Deep Tech Startup Showcase, which will spotlight groundbreaking innovations from across India. The conclave is expected to serve as a launchpad for new partnerships and cross-sector collaborations.
With its forward-looking agenda, the YUGM Conclave is positioned to support national missions such as ANRF, AICTE Innovation, and the broader vision of Viksit Bharat@2047 by strengthening India’s capacity in frontier technologies and democratizing access to innovation.
