Before 2022 Punjab Polls Sidhu joined Congress in presence of Navjot Singh Sidhu and Congress leadership.
Sidhu Moosewala was a youth icon of whole nation. His songs attain a mass recognition among youth.
Moose Wala was running in the by-elections for the Congress ticket from Mansa. He was defeated by Dr Vijay Singla of the AAP by 63,323 votes. Coming from Moosa, a town in the province of Mansa, Moose Wala joined the ANC in the midst of a major uprising in November last year. As Congress handed him a ticket to the Mansa Assembly constituency, then-former Mansa MP, Nazar Singh Manshahia, rebelled against the party saying it would oppose the appointment of the controversial artist.
Moosewala was reportedly involved in lot of criminal activities and in gang culture thus, had many enemies along the region.
