New Delhi: The cabinet has approved the proposal to increase the marriage age of women in the country from 18 to 21 years.
Sources said that a decision on this was taken in the cabinet meeting on Wednesday. Now for this, the government will amend the existing laws.
It is worth mentioning that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had mentioned this in his address from Red Fort on Independence Day last year. Now the government seems to be implementing it.
