The 1,000 drone show, the culmination of the Beating Retreat on Saturday and the first of its kind, was a highlight of the lively music that brought together a host of patriotic bands and marked the end of Republic Day celebrations. The concerned 10-minute drone show was organized by a startup namely, Botlab Dynamics, and was further sponsored by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and the department of science and technology (DST).
In an unprecedented exhibition in the history of India, the drones performed in the air to celebrate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence, the ‘Make-in-India’ lion, the National War Memorial, the Mahatma Gandhi contribution, the globe, the map of India and and tricolor.
President Ram Nath Kovind along with PM Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, CDS General Manoj Mukund Naravane, Indian Air Force, Air Force chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari and naval officer Admiral R Hari Kumar were among those in attendance.
Apart from India, only US, Russia and China alone have the capacity to cover the show with 1,000 drones.
Therefore, India by organizing the show is giving competition to super powers as only three mega economies can afford this grand level show that are US, Russia and China. In past few years, India with full dedication is approaching towards the goal of becoming Vishwa Guru.
