The prices of compressed natural gas (CNG) have been cut by Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), the company that supplies CNG to vehicles in Delhi-NCR, from Sunday.
The move comes after a hike in CNG prices in December last year.
According to IGL’s Twitter post, CNG will now cost Rs 73.59 per kg in Delhi, down from Rs 79.56. In Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad, CNG will be available at Rs 77.20 per kg, compared to Rs 82.12 earlier.
Gurugram will have the highest CNG price at Rs 82.62 per kg, down from Rs 88.12.
IGL had increased the CNG prices by Rs 0.95 per kg on December 17, 2022, following a rise in natural gas prices in the international market. Before that, CNG prices were hiked by Rs 3 per kg on October 8 and by Rs 2 per kg on May 15 last year.
IGL claims that its CNG and piped natural gas (PNG) prices are among the lowest in the country.
CNG is a cleaner and cheaper alternative to petrol and diesel for vehicles.
