A FISH and chip shop customer couldn’t believe his fries when he found pop star Lewis Capaldi’s face in the wrapping.
Stunned Andy Thompson, 34, was just about to tuck in at home when he spotted the singer-songwriter’s likeness staring back at him.
Andy, who says the image of his fellow Scot was created by drops of grease on the paper, immediately rang his superfan wife and sent her a pic.
He said: “I opened up the paper and looked down as I added the ketchup. I thought, ‘Woah, that’s Lewis Capaldi! It’s Lewis Capaldi!’.
“I phoned my missus, Wendy, as she’s more of a fan of his than I am and she couldn’t believe it either.
“The chips went cold because we were too busy laughing.”
The estate agent, of Paisley, near Glasgow, kept the wrapping as a memento.
Someone You Loved singer Capaldi is taking a break to focus on his health and Andy added: “I’d like to send it to him. I know he’s having a rough one lately so this might cheer him up.” However, the grease has since spread further across the paper — and Andy now reckons it looks more like Elvis Presley.
Capaldi, 26, is known to enjoy a chippy tea himself and was seen tucking into one ahead of a gig in Newcastle this year.
