IndiGo Launches First International Flight from Bhubaneswar to Dubai

Bhubaneswar airport will have its first international flight with IndiGo’s direct service to Dubai starting from May 15, officials announced. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the ticket sales for the flight on Utkal Dibasa on Saturday.

The service will run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The initial ticket price is ₹ 10,000 per sector, an official said.

“Direct connectivity with Dubai, one of the biggest aviation hubs, will open up a gateway to the world. Connectivity is the key to development and it has been our government’s focus area,” Mr Patnaik said.

He said the flight service will have a positive impact on investment in Odisha in sectors like IT, manufacturing and tourism.

IndiGo’s Global Sales Head Vinay Malhotra said the airline has been leading in enhancing international connectivity at affordable fares.

An official said flights to Singapore and Bangkok will also begin soon.Mr Patnaik thanked Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia for facilitating the services and said a large delegation from the state will travel on the first flight to Dubai.
