The Canada based terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, general counsel for banned outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), has released a provocative video making menacing threats against India’s sovereignty. Pannun vows to spark independence movements in states beyond Punjab.
“Mission of SFJ 2024: ONE India To 2047 NONE India,” Pannun declares in his latest video, responding to Canada’s Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs David Morrison. Morrison reaffirmed India’s territorial integrity, stating, “Canada’s policy is very clear… There’s one India, and that’s been made very clear.”
Pannun’s video reacts to Morrison’s comments during a public hearing of the Canadian Foreign Interference Commission in Ottawa earlier this month. Despite minimal support within Punjab, SFJ pursues an unofficial global referendum for a sovereign Khalistan state.
A US-based lawyer, Pannun threatens to fuel separatism in Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, Manipur, and Nagaland, “just like in Punjab,” aiming to “Balkanise the Union of India.” He addresses Chinese President Xi Jinping, falsely claiming Arunachal Pradesh as Chinese territory and urging its reclaim.
“SFJ will continue to use the protection and support of Canadian and American laws to campaign for independence movements,” Pannun threatens in front of a poster with the words “2047 None India.” “By 2047, India’s borders will be redrawn and erased from the world map.”
The video concludes with a menacing lightning visual.
India has designated Pannun a terrorist; his actions have sparked concerns about SFJ’s growing influence.
