The Election Commission of India announced dates for upcoming polls scheduled to be held in five States namely UP, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur. The polls of 5 states will be conducted in around 7 phases and results will be out on the 10th of March.
The first Phase of polls will commence on 10th February only UP, Second phase of polling will be on 14 February and cover 4 states namely UP, Goa, Punjab and Uttarakhand. The third phase of polls will be on 20th February in only UP, Fourth Phases polls on 23rd February in only UP, Fifth Phase on 27th February in UP and Manipur, Sixth Phase on 3rd March in Manipur and UP and Seventh Phase on 7th March in only UP. The result will be out on 10th March.
Polling time will also be extended for one more hour, said CEC
Rallies, Road Shows Bicycle rallies, and Public meetings were suspend till January 15 eyeing Covid-19 surge. More and More virtual rallies and campaigns to be emphasized said CEC.
No victory campaign and shows are allowed. Only five people can participate in the door-to-door campaign.
Around 16% polling has also been increasing, special facilities for women, disabled and youth, said CEC.
Therefore, the history has been created in the political history of India as the first time the government and Election Commission of India decided to suspend the rallies.
