After the declaration of Gujrat Election dates which are scheduled on 1st and 5th of December this year, political developments are taking place speedily. Congress is not in power in Gujarat assembly in the last 27 years. So many leaders left the congress party ahead of Gujarat elections.
Recently the opposition Congress party in Gujarat legislative assembly got a huge setback when tribal leader Mohan Singh Rathwa announced to quit Congress and join ruling party BJP.
Rathwa is an eleven-time MLA representing Chhota Udaipur constituency in central Gujrat. Mohan Singh Rathwa today resigned as a party member and MLA and joined BJP. 78-year-old Rathwa was not intended to seek to Election ticket for himself but wanted the ticket for his son from the same seat.
As per reports, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Naran Rathva has sought a ticket for his son from the same seat. In 2017 Gujrat Elections Rathwa won by a margin of just 1000 votes. In 2012 Elections the winning margin was below 3000 votes.
After sending resignation to Congress chief Jagdish Thakor, Rathwa went to BJP office at along with his sons Rajendrasinh and Ranjitsinh Ahmedabad where three of them were inducted into the party by state general secretaries Bhargav Bhatt and Pradeepsinh Vaghela.
Talking to the reporters at BJP headquarters Rathwa said, I am 100 percent sure that BJP will give me a ticket. But I am getting old now. He further said, “My civil engineer son Rajendrasingh was having a feeling that we should join BJP.”
In last five years, leaders Jitu Chaudhary, Pradyumnasinh Jadeja, J V Kakadiya, Akshay Patel, and Brijesh Merja left Congress party. Patidat leader Hardik Patel quit Congress raising serious questions against Rahul Gandhi in May this year. Many more developments are expected in the political world in this Election period.
