Alexander Shulgin, Russia’s envoy to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), speaks to RT about the latest claims surrounding the alleged poisoning of opposition figure Alexey Navalny.
Western countries claim Navalny survived an assassination attempt involving a Novichok-class military-grade nerve agent in Russia last year.
The anti-corruption campaigner suddenly fell during a trip to Siberia and was airlifted to recuperate in Germany. He returned to Russia in January and was later jailed for violating the terms of his parole related to a previous fraud conviction.
Moscow has denied that Navalny was poisoned by a chemical agent while traveling in Russia.
During the OPCW session in The Hague on Monday, several countries, including the US, UK, France, and Germany, demanded that Russia disclose “the circumstances” of the case.
