The 2025 Creative Expo Taiwan will be staged Aug. 2-11 at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park and Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei to spotlight the country’s creative prowess and cultural resilience, the Ministry of Culture said July 16.
Themed “Water Scapes,” this year’s event centers around water as an essential element of daily life, showcasing how Taiwan’s cultural ecology has been shaped by its diverse aquatic landscapes—from the misty forests of the high mountains and cascading hot springs of the foothills to the rushing rivers and flowing tides of the coastal plains.
According to the MOC, the event will comprise four thematic sections: The Spirit of Water, The Island of Seascapes, The Realm of Mist and Taiwan as Endless Streams. The expo is expected to be the biggest in scale ever, with an estimated 650,000-plus visitors during its 10-day run.
During a press event in Taipei, Minister of Culture Li Yuan said he was deeply moved by this year’s expo concept, as he grew up in a time when the mountains and seas were not accessible to the public due to the social atmosphere. He anticipated that the expo, through its carefully curated displays and images, will help the public appreciate how water has played a role in Taiwan’s diversity.
The organizers said this year’s edition also features more than 50 performances; 10 seminars on topics spanning branding, images, music and techno-culture; an exhibition zone spotlighting 70 local craftwork brands; an intellectual property zone showcasing more than 650 brands and contents from 10 countries; and guided tours led by cultural practitioners to help visitors observe, reflect and trace the cultural and historical transformations shaped by Taiwan’s waterways.
