The “Building Cyber Resilience: Policy, Business and Innovation” forum opened March 31 in Taipei City under the Global Cooperation and Training Framework.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, over 130 experts and officials from 29 countries are taking part in the forum, exchanging views and experiences on deepening cybersecurity cooperation to build a secure and trusted digital environment. The three-day event is held in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Affairs and Australia, Canada, Japan, the U.K. and the U.S. representative offices.
The event was opened by Deputy Digital Minister Yang Chia-ling and Wayne Ives, deputy director of the British Office in Taipei, followed by a keynote speech by Lee Yuh-jye, a senior advisor to Taiwan’s National Security Council, who spoke on strategies to build a resilient, secure and trusted smart nation.
The agenda covers a wide range of issues, including enhancing national cyber readiness through cross-border sharing and threat modeling; building a transnational collective defense ecosystem; securing global supply chains through collective action; using artificial intelligence to drive cyber security defense; and AI operations and the post-quantum transition.
The forum also features a workshop moderated by Taipei-based Research Institute for Democracy, Society and Emerging Technology. The workshop provided an introduction to designing and running a digital resilience tabletop exercise in response to composite threats.
To help participants better understand how Taiwan ensures key infrastructure’a cyber security and other high-tech sector achievements, forum activities include onsite visits to Taiwan Power Co.’s Tatan Power Plant and the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Museum of Innovation. (SFC-E)
