HomeUpdatesMOFA releases video underscoring Taiwan’s commitment to climate action
A short film showcasing Taiwan’s commitment to combating climate change was released Nov. 12 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Titled “Fresh Solutions: Chip In With Taiwan,” the video emphasizes that climate change is a shared international issue and highlights Taiwan’s technological contributions to world progress. It reiterates the country’s determination to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 via measures such as the government’s latest Nationally Determined Contribution for carbon emissions while calling on the international community to recognize Taiwan’s value as a partner and support Taiwan’s meaningful participation in global climate action.

According to the MOFA, a new logo and the slogan “Chip in with Taiwan, Global Mutirão” were released to align with the theme of this year’s Conference of the Parties to the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change taking place Nov. 10-21 in Belem, Brazil. The phrase “chip in” also conveys Taiwan’s readiness to collaborate with other countries and leverage its technological advantages and innovative capabilities to forge a sustainable future for all.

The short also has a 60-second version and is available on the MOFA’s official social media pages, as well as on the ministry’s affiliated Trending Taiwan YouTube channel. It can be viewed with subtitles in Chinese and English, with French, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish subtitles set to be released soon. (YCH-E)
