The Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) unveiled its 2026 action blueprint Feb. 23, underscoring the agency’s commitment to elevate the cultural content industry into a globally competitive, commercially and creatively sustainable force.

In its document, the agency outlines focus on international collaborative initiatives, sustainable business models, maximization of original intellectual property (IP), encouragement for ESG-driven corporate engagement, culture-tech applications, and increased investment in video gaming and interactive entertainment.

TAICCA Chair Sue Wang said the agency will continue to drive international partnerships through co-productions and joint ventures, including personnel development. She added that from now on, pre-production of creative content will be a major focus, with the agency investing in business models with transparent operations, reliable financing and clear growth potential, and giving special attention to projects that link production, distribution and marketing.

Original Taiwanese IP with growth potential is one of the TAICCA’s priorities, Wang said, noting that the agency will support projects with potential to extend from film and TV to stage and musical adaptations. Building long-term trust between commerce and the creative sector to attract more private investment into the cultural content industry is also an important goal, she added.

Wang stated that the next phase of culture-tech development will focus on practical applications, adding that the TAICCA is streamlining content creation and distribution by integrating technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data and immersive experiences. The agency will support brand recognition for original Taiwanese video games that showcase local culture and storytelling, she added.

TAICCA CEO Erica Wang further shared results from last year’s agency-invested projects, citing films “A Foggy Tale,” “96 Minutes” and “Mudborn” that each exceeded box office takings of NT$100 million (US$3.2 million). She also revealed 2026’s TAICCA-supported projects including feature film “Kung Fu,” anime “Noble Reincarnation: Born Blessed, So I’ll Obtain Ultimate Power” and role-playing game “Path of Ambition: The Sun Rise.” (YCH-E)
