The Tourism Administration participated in the 2025 Taiwan Culinary Exhibition Aug. 1-4 at the Taipei World Trade Center, according to the Ministry of Transportation and Communications.
President Lai Ching-te noted that the event’s main theme was “Fresh Catch Feast,” saying that “fresh” had several meanings, two of which were: that Taiwan has fresh seafood as it is an island country; the other is that Taiwan has fusion cuisine as the result of integration between diverse ethnic groups. The president further stressed Taiwan’s spirit of hospitality and anticipated that a combination of gourmet food experiences and other attractions would be positive for the tourism industry.
The Tourism Administration’s pavilion was themed “Taiwan: Full of Good Stuff” and focused on elements of Taiwan-style outdoor meals. The exhibit also highlighted the culinary delights of various tourism sites, Michelin Bib Gourmand eateries and offerings from the TA Solar Festival. Restaurants from all around Taiwan and the outlying counties showcased full meal sets covering local flavors, appetizers, main courses, frozen desserts, coffee and tea.
In addition, a series of activities were held at the pavilion, including augmented reality photo opportunities, on-site cooking demonstrations and gourmet trip experiences shared by YouTubers like the host of Ku’s Dream channel.
MOTC Minister Chen Shih-kai suggested eventgoers visit the pavilion for its combination of delicious food and tourism sites. TA Director-General Chen Yu-hsiu further recommended outlying Kinmen County Tsun De Herbal Medicine Store’s sachets of medicinal spices, southern city Kaohsiung Qishan Marvel’s agricultural products and 13 kinds of frozen desserts produced by scenic area administrations as part of the TA’s ongoing Solar Festival.
