The 2025 Asia Pacific Circular Economy Roundtable and Hotspot will take place Oct. 20-23 in Taipei City, reflecting government commitment to leading the charge in advancing the circular economy.
According to the Ministry of Environment, the joint events will be organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Taipei-based Circular Taiwan Network.
The MOENV said this will be the second time for Taiwan to host the roundtable, following its launch by the CTN in the southern city of Kaohsiung in 2019, and the first Asia-Australasia edition of the Circular Economy Hotspot, which first took place in the Netherlands in 2016 to promote sustainable practices and foster global collaboration.
The organizers said the events will position Taiwan at the heart of regional circular collaboration and innovation while bringing together governments, businesses, academics and civil society organizations to exchange insights and advance the Circular Collaboration for Climate Crisis, a global initiative to accelerate solutions for the planet’s most urgent sustainable challenges.
Under the theme “Leading Circular Collaboration,” the events will feature site visits to key facilities of Taiwan’s agriculture and food, textiles, high-tech and electronics, architecture and construction, plastics and packaging, and local revitalization sectors.
Other highlights include a plenary forum with one panel discussion on national circular economy roadmaps from an Asian perspective and another on promoting circular governance and building circular cooperation; several parallel sessions on the aforementioned sectors and key topics such as green finance, circular accounting and circular procurement; and a business matching session.
