The Taiwan Pavilion at the 2025 World Travel Market London successfully promoted the country as a top travel destination, the Tourism Administration said Nov. 10.
Following experience at previous travel fairs held in European countries, the Taiwan pavilion at WTM London featured a teahouse decorated with elements of the popular Alishan forest railway to highlight the country’s spectacular natural beauty.
According to the TA, the U.K. is a leading source of European visitors to Taiwan, recording 46,174 arrivals for the first seven months of this year. The administration is responding to the increasing global emphasis on low-carbon and green tourism to market Taiwan as a sustainable travel destination, the agency added.
The TA organized a breakfast exchange session at the venue Nov. 5, with over 30 representatives from participating travel agencies and media outlets gaining insights into Taiwan’s travel sector and enjoying local food.
The pavilion also included art and crafts exhibitions, beverage tastings, fun activities, music performances and the appearance of TA’s loveable mascot OhBear for photo opportunities, the agency added.
Players from the West Ham United Premier League came along for a meet-and-greet event at EVA Air’s booth, while China Airlines held an interactive quiz for visitors. The TA said it also led a delegation to Stockholm Nov. 3 to promote Taiwan as part of its WTM tour. (SFC-E)
