Israeli military, ‘celebrates’ New Year with rocket fire on Hamas-ruled territory

On New Year, Israel and Gaza Strip seem to be celebrating the moment with a pinch of rocket fire. After Gaza Strip fired rockets a day earlier, Israel’s military launched strikes against militant targets in the Hamas-ruled territory. No immediate confirmation has been given on the casualties

After the Gaza Strip fired rockets the other day, Israeli forces began raiding terrorist targets in the Hamas-controlled area on Sunday morning.

Three large explosions were seen and the sounds of warplanes were heard in a video recorded in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip.

No immediate confirmation has been given on the casualties.

According to Israeli forces, the attack looked set to destroy the rocket production base and the Hamas military base.

The military also blamed the militant group for any violence that had erupted in its area.

The plane crash comes as a revenge after two rockets were fired at Gaza on Saturday. They had reached the Mediterranean Sea in the center of Israel.

As Gaza militant groups often launch missiles aimed at the sea, it may not be clear whether the rockets were aimed at hitting Israel or not.

So far, there have been no reports of injuries or damage caused by the rocket fire on Saturday.

In Gaza, Palestinian terrorists shot and wounded an Israeli citizen near a security fence on Wednesday. Later, Israel responded to a tank fire targeting several Hamas areas.
