Russia-Ukraine War: The Polish ambassador advised the people of India to refrain from crossing the Shehyni-Medyka border which is still congested. ‘

The Indian ambassador has advised residents of western Ukraine, including Lviv and Ternopil, to visit a checkpoint on the Budomierz border when they enter Poland immediately as Russia invades eastern Ukraine.

“Also, they are advised to travel south to pass through Hungary or Romania,” the Indian ambassador to Poland and Lithuania said in a statement issued on Wednesday morning.

It advised the people of India to avoid crossing the Shehyni-Medyka border which is still congested.

The Indian government has accelerated the evacuation process amid uncertainty over the Ukrainian war. Foreign Minister S Jaishankar announced that six planes had flown to India in the last 24 hours, including the first flights from Poland, carrying 1377 Indians from Ukraine. But thousands of civilians are still trapped in the war zone as they try to cross the international border into neighboring Poland, Hungary, and Romania.

The ambassador sent officers to the checkpoints bordering Medyka and Budomierz to welcome all exits and to make it easier to travel to India.

“Those entering Poland from any border crossing where Indian officials have not been sent may head straight to Hotel Prezydencki, ul. Podwislocze 48 in Rzeszow where all arrangements have been made for them to stay and from where Operation Ganga flights to India are regularly operated, “the advice said.

The embassy will also have to travel if the Indian student “does not have the money for this.”

Meanwhile, the Indian Air Force has also joined ‘Operation Ganga’ this morning sending a C-17 transport plane to Romania to repatriate Indian citizens. The IAF plane carrying tents, blankets and other humanitarian assistance to Ukraine will also depart from Hindon Airbase soon.
