Putin: Russia is ready to resume gas supplies to the EU via Nord Stream 2.
Speaking at the Russian Energy Week international forum, President Vladimir Putin said Russia is ready to restore gas supplies through the one link of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline that remains in operation.
The Russian leader said gas could still be delivered through the one remaining intact section of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. The ball was in the EU’s court on whether it wanted gas delivered through the pipeline, he said.
Putin says: Russia is ready to start such deliveries. The ball is in the EU’s court. If they want, they just open the tap.
He went on to say that Russia had nothing to do with the sky-high energy prices Europeans are facing this winter, instead blaming the West for fueling the global energy crisis.
It was the poorest countries that would pay the highest price in terms of rising energy costs, Putin added.
