New Delhi: Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin have confirmed their visit to the G20 summit. The summit is to be held in Bali this November. Indonesian President Joko Widodo informed about it.
“Xi Jinping will come. President Putin also told me he would come,” Widodo told Bloomberg. It was the first time that the Indonesian president confirmed the visit of the presidents of the two countries at the November summit.
The dollar rose against currencies in the Asia-Pacific region following the release of the report on Friday, as rising geopolitical concerns boosted demand for the US dollar as a safe haven.
China’s Foreign Ministry did not immediately comment on Jinping’s travel plan. However, the Kremlin refused to comment on the matter.
