India the Best country for religious minorities, US ranked 5th: Global minority report

India has topped the list of Global Minority report as the best country for religious minorities in the world.

The report is based on conceptual issues relating to human rights, minorities, concept of religious freedom and culture dilemma of religious minorities, cause of religious differences and more.

In its first global report on minorities, the Center for Policy Analysis (CPA) has ranked India first in the list of countries in its treatment of religious minorities. India ranked first in inclusion towards religious minorities.

Issued by former Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu, the report is based on conceptual issues related to human rights, minorities, concept of religious freedom and cultural dilemma of religious minorities, causes of religious differences and others.

While India was ranked first in the Global Minority Report, the United States of America (US) was ranked fourth. Nepal ranked 39th while Russia ranked 52nd. China and Bangladesh ranked 90th and 99th respectively. Pakistan is ranked 104th in the report, while Taliban-led Afghanistan secured the 109th position.

It is the first time the Indian body has rated other nations on their treatment of religious minorities.

“The Global Minority Report does not follow in the footsteps of other international reports on such issues, which are generally prepared on the basis of some bizarre incidents that do not present the overall situation in the country,” the CPA said in its report.

“India’s model of minority politics aims to promote diversity. But very often it does not have the desired results as there are many class reports on various issues between the majority and minority communities, especially with Muslims. This needs revision.” of India’s minority policies and India needs to rationalize its minority policies if it wants to avoid conflict situations in the country,” said Durga Nand Jha, Executive Chairman, CPA.

The report also recommended that the United Nations (UN) make it mandatory for each country to submit an annual report on the observance of minority rights related to the Declaration of Minority Rights.

“Some Indians have joined those who have bashed India over the years. Let there be a meaningful debate. The West gives sermons but never looks at the situations their own country is facing. India was once known as the vishwa guru (world leader) , but we have never attacked any nation,” Naidu said while releasing the report.
