Delhi: Night curfew in Delhi from today, know what will be banned and who is exempt

Delhi Night Curfew Timings: Under the night curfew, there will be a ban on the exit of people other than those associated with emergency services in Delhi from 11 pm to 5 am.

Delhi government is going to impose a night curfew amidst increasing cases of the corona. There will be a ban in Delhi from Monday between 11 pm to 5 am. The Delhi government has taken this decision as a precaution even before going into yellow alert.

If the infection rate of Corona remains 0.50 percent on Monday for the second consecutive day, then with the metro running at 50 percent capacity, the odd-even formula will be applicable in the markets. While many other restrictions will also apply.

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has approved the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) for a possible third wave of Covid.

Under GRAP, different types of restrictions have been fixed based on the infection rate of the corona, active patients, and the number of patients admitted to hospitals. The system will be activated automatically when the specified number of cases increases.


Its first phase will be implemented when the infection rate comes to 0.50 percent for two consecutive days. The infection rate crossed the .50 percent mark for the first time on Sunday amid increasing cases of the corona. In view of this, the government has decided to impose a night curfew from Monday as a precautionary measure.

According to officials, if the infection rate remains above .50 percent on Monday, then the yellow alert will be implemented. With this, the metro will run at 50 percent capacity.

At the same time, cinema halls, multiplexes, theatres, conference rooms, banquet halls, spa and wellness clinics, yoga institutes, and gyms will be closed along with educational institutions.

At the same time, night curfew will be applicable from 10 pm to 5 am. Shops and shopping malls will run on the odd-even formula during the day.

290 corona infected found on Sunday


A record 290 cases of corona have been found in Delhi on Sunday and one person has died. Earlier on Saturday, 279 corona patients were found in Delhi and one person died.

This is the seventh death due to corona infection this month. On Thursday, 125 people were found infected in the capital, but on Friday this number had increased to 180.

With the infection rate of Corona crossing 50 percent, the Delhi government and its agencies have become alert. If the infection rate does not come down on Monday, a yellow alert will be declared in Delhi.

At present, only 50 percent of the passengers will be able to travel in the metro running with full capacity. At the same time, markets will also open on the odd-even formula. This will be applicable when the infection rate of the corona is more than 0.5 percent for two consecutive days. Or 1500 new cases will come in a week or patients will be admitted on 500 oxygen beds in a week. During this, the status of unlocking will be there. That is, Delhi will remain open.

Metro will run at 50 percent capacity.
Cinemas, multiplexes, theatres, conference rooms, banquet halls, spa and wellness clinics, yoga institutes, and gyms will be closed along with educational institutions.


Night curfew will be applicable from 10 pm to 5 am.

Between 10 am to 8 pm, shops and shopping malls will open on the odd-even formula.
Restaurants will open at 50 percent capacity from 8 am to 10 pm and bars at 50 percent capacity from 12 pm to 10 pm.

Amber alert


This will be applicable when more than one percent of the people are infected for two consecutive days. Or 3500 new cases will come within a week or patients will be admitted to 700 oxygen beds in a week. Industries and businesses will remain open. Markets will also open. Mall shops will open on an odd-even basis.

These restrictions will apply

Private offices at 50% capacity.
Cinemas, multiplexes, theatres, conference rooms, banquet halls, spa and wellness clinics, yoga institutes, and gyms will be closed along with educational institutions.
Night curfew will be applicable from 10 pm to 5 am.
Between 10 am to 6 pm, shops and shopping malls will open on the odd-even formula during the day.
Restrictions on eating in restaurants and closed bars.


Orange Alert


This will be applicable when there is more than a two percent infection rate for two consecutive days. Or 9000 infection cases come within a week or patients get admitted on 1000 oxygen beds in a week. During this, only those construction works will continue where the laborers have the facility to live. Industries will not open completely. Other activities including shops and malls will be closed.

Red alert


This will be applicable when the infection rate is more than five percent for two consecutive days or more than 16000 new cases come in a week or if patients are admitted on 3000 oxygen beds. During this, there will be a complete lockdown situation.
