The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya, a premier management institute, recently conducted a comprehensive Management Development Program on ‘Leadership & General Management’. This program, held from 11th to 16th March 2024, was specifically designed for two batches of officers from the State Health Society Bihar.
The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 60 Health Officers from various regions of Bihar. The training curriculum was meticulously designed to cover a broad spectrum of management essentials.
Key topics included strategic thinking, team building, emotional intelligence, vision and mission setting, ethical mindset, service delivery, quality and lean management, among others. These sessions aimed to equip the officers with general management skills that would significantly enhance the functioning of the healthcare systems.
This initiative is a testament to IIM Bodh Gaya’s ongoing commitment to effect positive social change by bolstering Bihar’s healthcare delivery system. Prof. Swapnarag Swain, the Chairperson of Hospital and Healthcare Management (HHM), emphasized that the program’s objective was to foster collaborative and mutually beneficial academic and professional relationships. He also highlighted the various milestones achieved in the Bihar healthcare domain.
One of the attendees shared their experience, stating that the program not only imparted management knowledge but also invoked leadership skills. The officers pledged to implement the learnings in their respective domains actively, aiming to improve the hospitals and society as a whole.
